01/16/2015 - Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Collins is a talented LHH RHP/OF with a good baseball frame at 6'2/170 lbs. Defensively, he worked with efficient feet and excellent body control to get his body to a good fielding position on-time. He was soft/subtle with the glove and had very athletic actions working behind and through the ball. Offensively, he delivered the barrel on a level path after getting to a good hitting position. He flashed quick hands and pop to his pull side. On the hill, he threw a FB from 80-84, spun an 11/5 CB with sharp action from 68-71, showed a sinking CH at 69-71, and flashed a splitter with good action at 68-70. Mechanically, he gathered over the rubber, kept his eyes on the target and repeated his delivery. He showed good glove side work and rotated with his lower half well to throw. In all - Collins is a projectable athlete that ran a 7.14 sixty and showed good ability all over the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
