12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Colt is a strong C/3B in the 2029 class. He recently impressed scouts with his level of play at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, he has a low stance and presents the glove well. He tracks the baseball in and keeps his eyes behind the baseball. He gains a high 3 qtr. slot and makes feeds down to 2B at 3.00 pop. Is a great blocking catcher and he replaces his knees well. He stays centered to the baseball and prevented numerous free 90s with his in-game play. At the plate, he is quiet in his set-up and stays in control during his load to swing phase. He likes to be aggressive early in the count and is an advanced two-strike hitter. Showed well in games with 5 quality at-bats while registering 2 1Bs and a RBI. Overall, Scouts love his leadership and fearless demeanor. They feel he has a bright future in the game.

10/29/2023 - National Showcase - San Marcos (San Diego), CA Colt is a talented 5ft 10/120 C in the 2029 class. He recently impressed scouts with his actions in the field and at the plate. Defensively, he shows active feet and stays square to his target. Demonstrates hip flexion with a low and athletic stance. Glove hand is soft and the ball sticks to the leather. He can redirect the baseball with clean and quick actions to gain a short over-the-top release. Feeds are around the bag and his body matures; he will be in the low 2.0 range on his pop. At the plate, he simply is on the barrel. His swing path is short and direct and he make load contact. Hits off a firm front side and his hands are fast (65 exit velo). Overall, Colt plays above grade and scouts can not wait to see him in action again.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
