08/30/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Cooperstown, NY Colton Boyko is a 1B/C that recently played at the All-Ripken Games in Cooperstown. On the mount his fastball was clocked at 61 mph and had a lot of late life to it. He complimented that with a 54 mile per hour breaking ball that also moved a lot. His balance and coordination throughout his delivery are what allowed him to stay ahead of the hitters that he faced throughout the tournament. He has an incredibly high IQ when on the mound and that is his biggest asset. At the plate he has phenomenal batspeed and that creates a lot of power for him. He consistently made hard contact, and he is a type of hitter that attacks early in the zone. The words when he sees the fastball he jumps on it. His weekend was highlighted by a double and a home run.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
