08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Billings, MT Colton is a class of 2031 C/RHP. He shows off a medium sized frame with some strength present for his age. Behind the plate, he shows accurate throws to 2B and decent footwork on his throwdowns. Shows good pocket awareness and creates angles when blocking. On the mound, he works with good tempo and keeps his eyes on target. He attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 47mph and a 10/4 shaped breaking ball. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate he hits from an open stance with activated hands. Does a good job using his hips to drive through the baseball. Shows a good finish through the baseball, with a line drive approach, and an exit velocity up to 55mph. Colton is a young player who we expect to develop nicely as he continues to grow.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
