Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

07/27/2023 - Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Colton is an athletic OF/RHP in the 2026 class. Standing at 5ft 11/175, Colton is a player who plays well above his grade level and scouts love his talents. At 1st glance his raw metrics jump off the page. 6.76 runner, 85 exit velo and 91 arm strength. To compliment his measurables, he is an plus defender and has great feel for the position. Show quickness and agility and can play all three spots with his feet and arm and ability to read the baseball off the bat. He can create outs for teams with his talents. On the mound, he likes to attack and challenge hitters with his 84 mph FB. It shows run and sink and can be a swing and miss pitch when located down in the zone. His SL/CB combo is sharp and sits in the mid 70’s. To become a complete polished pitcher, he needs to mix in his CH more to compliment his FB. At the plate, he has a comfortable feel and gets into his load well. His lower half is explosive and can create consistent line drive contact. Battles with two-strikes and is a tough out. Overall, Colton is a high ceiling player and a special talent.

04/30/2023 - National Showcase - Highland Park (DFW), TX Colton is an OF/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Ran his 60-yard dash in 6.65 seconds. In the OF, showed quick/fluid feet and ability to cover ground in all directions. Aggressive routes enable him to create good fielding angles as he works through the ball. Showed ability to flip his hips and go get balls. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with consistent throws into infield at 91mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher has a good rear hip coil and keeps his eyes on target. He gathers over rubber and rotates to target. Attacks hitters with his FB that sits 81-83mph with good carry. Mixed in an 11/5 shaped breaking ball that he throws for strikes and a changeup with movement that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. A left-handed hitter he starts with a crouched and even stance. Gets his hands separated, with a good lower half turn, and he keeps his hands inside the ball. Hit line drives consistently with a bat exit velocity up to 85mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we foresee Colton having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
