08/15/2024 - All-Ripken Games - Tennessee, TN Colton is a terrific corner infielder/catcher/pitcher who showcased his talents at the Ripken Games in TN. In the field, he has tremendous hands and covers his defensive area well. Behind the plate, he works hard and has a high feel for the position. His arm works at 59 velo and a 2.72 pop time. On the mound his 52-55 fastball has late life. His arm action is loose and he gains proper balance in his delivery. At the plate, he uses a neutral stance and stays inside his feet. He can get uphill at times and working to be on time for the middle of the field will help shorten his path. He collected three hits in game action and scouts describe him as a good hitter. Overall, Colton has a strong skill set with a high ceiling.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
