04/05/2024 - The Preseason All-Ripken Games - Myrtle Beach Colton performed well for the Freedom squad in Myrtle Beach at the PreSeason All-Ripken Games where his 7-hit performance stood out. He seemed to be on base constantly giving him the look of a valuable lead-off type bat. He is difficult to defend as he uses the whole field well, hitting the ball where it is pitched. The ball comes off his barrel hard and we like the way he competes with 2 strikes. Staying closer to level with his path and eyes should help him against better pitching as he advances. In the infield Colton's feet are active and his overall actions are smooth and athletic. His sure hands and strong arm allow him to pick balls with ease and then finish the play. That arm strength played well on the mound too where he attacked hitters with a 51 mph fastball and mixed in a good curve. The future is bright for Colton thanks to an impact LH bat and the ability to play in the middle of the field. We look forward to seeing him again.
