11/03/2024 - National Showcase - Salem, VA Conner continues to show significant progress and promise in his baseball development. At shortstop, he demonstrates smooth, clean actions with active footwork and proper mechanics, allowing him to square up ground balls and transition fluidly through his plays. His glove work is soft, presenting well out front, and his lateral movement enables him to create strong fielding angles. At the plate, Conner excels with an open setup, quick hands, and an 82 mph exit velocity. His level swing path keeps him inside the ball, enabling consistent line-drive contact to all fields. With better engagement of his lower half, his power potential will continue to grow. On the mound, Conner’s fastball ranges from 75-76 mph, complemented by an 11/5 breaking ball with late movement. His changeup features arm-side run with maintained arm speed, while his slider adds an extra weapon with tight spin and short break. As he builds more arm strength through a long-toss program, his stock as a two-way player will rise even further.

12/01/2023 - Baseball Factory Academic All-American Tournament Connor is a talented 5ft 10/155 SS/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he plays on the balls of his feet and demonstrates a relaxed feel. His feet are in sync with his body and gains a low and athletic fielding position. Glove works out in front and he can redirect the baseball with quick and clean actions. Arm plays at 79 and is accurate to his targets. On the mound, he has a simple and repeatable delivery. He stays directional to his targets and scouts feel he is highly projectable. His FB has movement at 73-7 (topped at 77) and worked well in the zone. His CB shaped 10-4 and ranged 63-4. At the plate, he begins in a tall and squared stance. His hands are comfortable and he gains a simple load. His stride is short and he positions his body to be on time to hit. Overall, scouts love his make-up and feel that he has potential to be a great prospect.

04/16/2023 - National Showcase - Charlottesville, VA Conner continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, hitting /power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Fastball shows a range of 70-72 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight arm side run. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory East Coast Winter Classic Conner is a class of 2027 SS/RHP prospect. He shows off a medium sized frame with lots of room to continue to add strength. In the field, he shows good footwork and plays downhill. Shows good glove actions through the ball and does a good job picking out hops. Shows some athleticism with ability to change arm slots and has strong throws across. At the plate, he does a good job staying in the middle of the field and getting extension. Good hip actions and aggressive swings help show off some gap to gap potential power. On the mound, he does a good job working downhill. Shows a clean arm action and good tempo. Fastball was up to 71 MPH and best pitch was his breaking ball in the 58 MPH range. Conner is a good player with many years to continue his development.

11/06/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Salem (Roanoke), VA Conner is a talented SS/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he shows advanced pocket feel and the ball sticks in the leather. Spreads his glove fingers and sinks his hip well on his backhands. Uses a high ¾ slot and is accurate with his feeds. On the mound, he is directional and shows good timing. He uses a 3-pitch mix from a ¾ slot. His FB sat 66-7 and his CB sat 55-7 with 11/5 shape. His SL sat 56-7 with 10/4 shape. Working on his balance and maintaining his eyes to the target will help improve his location. At the plate, he begins with a squared stance and stays inside his feet. He shows a level path and line drive production. Overall, he shows the athletic ability to move forward as a two-way player and is setting himself up for a fine HS career.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
