01/16/2023 - National Showcase - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Connor is an athletic, strong LHP/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting abilities are solid with well above average power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (80 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At 1B, defensive abilities are well above average as he shows smooth/fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents well out front. He utilizes foot quickness in covering a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 71-73 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 2/8 shape with gradual break. His slider has tight spin and resembles breaking ball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Connor has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
