Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 2BPosition Projection

11/11/2010 - Arizona Fall Select Training & Competition - 2010 Conner showed similar skills in Arizona as he did at his last workout in Pirate City. He continues to project in the INF, and shows best at 3rd base. Defensively, Conner squares his body to the ball and he fields out in front. He shows a solid backhand, he has a good transfer, and he showed a good arm to his target. If he can improve his rhythm, and play through the ball better, defensive grades can improve. Offensively, Conner has a still head and direct hands to the ball. He hit well during batting practice and T work, and he put the ball in play during live games. Conner can get better by not lunging to the ball, and with more extension to and through.

11/05/2009 - Pirate City Select Training Dolan is a young, 2012 graduate that shows as a 2B with an average frame displaying projection as he continues to physically mature. Foot speed is well below average as he must get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Feet are active but needs to be more aggressive in coming to get the baseball, playing through with feet / hands. Glove action is soft, clean, and sure in making the plays with hands / feet working well together in getting rid of the baseball quickly. Defensive abilities and arm strength are below average as he must get on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength and carry on throws. At the plate, Dolan has below average abilities and power through a balanced approach. Hands are quick, making consistent contact through a level swing path to as he showed the ability to use all fields but has some mechanical flaws that are hindering him from reaching his full potential with grades improving with instruction and adjustments. With 3 years to further develop, Connor has abilities with time and room to improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
