01/14/2011 - Under Armour Pre-Season All-America - 2011 Connor is a thin, athletic, 2-way player with solid skills at SS and on the mound. Defensively, Connor has playable hands and feet and shows a soft backhand. He moves well laterally, works to field out in front, and consistently makes plays. Connor has a loose arm and throws with accuracy to his target. Improved footwork on the double play and better balance when throwing should help improve his defensive grades. On the mound, Connor has a FB that touches 87 MPH which he uses to aggressively attack hitters. He keeps his eyes to his target, maintains good balance, and he works both sides of the plate. Connor has a balanced delivery, level shoulders. He does well landing in a square, fielding position. At the plate, Connor has good balance, bat speed, and barrel accuracy. He has an aggressive / level swing, direct hands to the ball, and has pop in his bat. Connor is a solid two-way player that with improvement will be a player to watch for.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
