07/31/2022 - Official Player Development Membership - Washington, DC Connor continued to progress in his skills during his last workout in DC. At SS, Connor has active feet, agile range to the ball, and he fields low in a square position. He creates a good fielding angle, hands are soft, and he throws with a long arm action with accuracy to his target. On the mound, Connor shows good balance, he works well to his balance point, and he separates his hands on time. He has a clean arm circle, lands with good direction toward home, and competes in the zone. Offensively, Connor can switch hit and is currently better from the right side. He stands in athletically, with good balance, and loads his hands back well. He has a short swing through the ball and can spray to all fields. From the left, Connor tracks well, he makes consistent contact, and he uses his lower body well.

07/05/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Connor had a great event at the Cape Cod event and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he works hard and is very coachable.

02/26/2022 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Offensive Skills Weekend (MS) Connor MacBean, SS 2029, Haymarket, VA One of the better young players you can see at the plate. Very athletic setup at the plate. Understands how to use the ground and the backside of his swing to deliver as much power as he can. Once he matures we should see a very special player. Also working to switch hit and there will be another tool in the box of a next level talent.

08/01/2021 - All-In Membership - Washington, DC Connor is a SS/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2029. In the field, Connor shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them on-line to his target. Long tossing can help Connor build up his arm strength. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is fluid to load and drives through well with his lower half. He stays direct through the ball and produces solid line drives. Connor can generate more pop off the barrel by continuing to add strength. On the mound, Connor gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Connor operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 55mph. Changeup sits from 53-54mph. Continuing to develop his off speed can help Connor keep hitters off balance. With eight more years to develop, Connor has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
