10/01/2023 - National Showcase - Spokane, WA Connor continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering ball well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.06 with accuracy / carry (85 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential is now well above average through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. On the mound, fastball showed in the upper 70 range with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tailing action. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Connor is a 2026 C/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. Behind the plate, he is vocal and presents a good target. Works with good direction towards second base and throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Made accurate throws to 2nd base, with good carry, and an arm velocity up to 84mph and a best pop time of 2.38 seconds. Tucks his chin on his blocks and deadens the ball. On the mound, he has a good mound presence with a good idea for pitching. He separates his hands on-time, with a clean arm stroke, and works with good direction down the mound. A 3-pitch pitcher who does a good job of mixing his pitches. He attacks hitters with a FB topping out at 78mph with arm side run, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. In 2 innings of work he punched out 3 batters and didn't allow a run. At the plate, he sets up in an athletic and open stance with high hands. Has a controlled load, with good rhythm, and is centered at contact. Gets hips through as he hit balls consistently to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. Overall, Connor is a good player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

08/13/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Spokane, WA Connor showed a spike in radar velocity to 84 MPH during his last workout in Spokane. He is a good young player at both positions. Behind the plate, Connor has quick feet, he sits in squarely, and he receives the ball well. He blocks softly, his exchange is clean, and he throws with accuracy and direction to 2nd base. On the mound, Connor has a clean arm action and he works on a downhill plane. He has good glove side lead, solid control of his FB, and has a controlled landing toward home plate. At the plate, Connor has an open stance, good balance, and he makes hard/consistent contact. He hits hard to the pull side and finishes his swing well.

07/16/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - (MS) Connor is a 2026 C prospect who worked hard to improve his skillsets at the National World Series. Behind the plate, he has an easy sit, with an easy sway, and tracks pitches well. He works to center the baseball and presents a low target. He has a clean exchange as he gains ground to second base. Made throws to the first base side of bag from an over-the-top arm slot with an arm velocity up to 72mph and a best pop time of 2.59 seconds. Works to center the ball and tucks his chin. At the plate, Connor rotates his lower half well and showed good pitch recognition. Sprayed balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 72mph during his round of BP. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see Connor having a bright future on the baseball field.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season Prospects Tournament (MS) Connor is a tall/lean C/RHP in the class of 2026 out of Colbert, WA. At C, he showed active footwork by moving his body well to get in front of balls in the dirt. He receives the ball with strong hands and presents a target to his pitchers early. His throws were strong to 2B but could improve his arm action to be quicker at the catcher position. At the plate, this LHH swings the bat with intent. He had quick hands with an on plane bat path with allows him to make hard consistent contact. On the mound, Connor operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 71mph. Breaking ball sits from 65-67mph with sharp 11-5 break. Changeup sits from 59-62mph. Allowing his arm to get up above shoulder at foot strike could help him improve his pitch command. Connor is a projectable player who has a very bright future on the diamond.

12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Connor is a projectable C/RHP in the class of 2026 out of Colbert, WA. Behind the dish, he showed quick feet by adjusting to dirt balls and soft hands when receiving pitches. He kept quiet eyes and movement when tracking the ball to the mitt. His throws to 2B had carry and were consistent. At the plate, he used a square stance with a short on time stride to work directly to the baseball with explosive hands. He makes hard consistent contact with a line drive approach and power potential to the pull side. On the hill, he displayed decent mechanics by separating on time with a loose arm action. He competes and attacks every hitter with a two pitch mix of fastball and change up. His fastball had some cut which topped out at 82 mph while his changeup sat around 59 mph. Connor could benefit from programs/drills such as strength training, arm path, long toss, speed & agility.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
