Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/RHPPosition Projection

11/01/2020 - All-In Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Connor is a strong 1B/RHP prospect who shows tremendous raw power at the plate (96mph exit velo). At the plate, this RHH shows an advanced approach through a tall setup. He is smooth to load and generates fast bat speed through the zone, producing strong contact and gap to gap power. In the field, Connor is light on his feet covering ground and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. On the mound, Connor gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and extends through his release, staying inline toward the plate. Connor shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 83mph. Breaking ball sits from 71-73mph with late 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 66-70mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Connor is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

09/06/2020 - All-In Membership - Frisco (DFW), TX Connor continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 7.25 runner. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers ground. At the plate, power potential is now outstanding through a squared setup. Hands are quick (90 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. On the mound, arm strength his improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 80 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup and shows a feel for pitch with arm side run. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/05/2017 - College PREP - Plano (DFW), TX Connor is a physically imposing prospect at 6'5”, 200lbs who has a prototypical baseball frame. He shows off a big time arm both on the mound at in the field, resulting in a big fastball and the ability to make plays other first basemen can't. He is aware around the bag and is able to move his feet to make shorter throws and pick balls in the dirt. He plays through his backhand in the hole and makes accurate feeds to the bag. At the dish, he absolutely crushes the ball with strong hands and very good bat whip through the zone. He delivers the barrel to the ball consistently on a direct path to spray lasers from gap to gap. On the hill, this tall right hander uses his impressive size to jump at the hitters and reduce the reaction time to catch up to his 77mph fastball. He has smooth mechanics and repeats his delivery well to get to a consistent release point on each of his pitches. Syncing his arm and body will lead to more command and velocity moving forward. Connor is a very exciting prospect with huge potential on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
