04/09/2017 - College PREP - Louisville, KY Connor is a strong, thick catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential is well above average through an open setup. Hands are quick and he has strength (86 mph exit velocity) in his swing with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he stays inside the baseball, utilizing all fields, displaying gap to gap pop. Behind the plate, pop times showed a range of 2.20-2.41 as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Hands are soft / sure and he sticks balls in the zone but needs to square stance up. He shows off his athletic abilities through the blocking process as he is a wall behind the plate. With 3 years to further develop, Connor has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
