01/17/2025 - 2025 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Conor Mullin is a switch-hitting catcher and first baseman with a strong defensive skill set and developing offensive tools. At 5'8", 160 lbs, he possesses good mobility and a solid arm, making him an effective presence behind the plate. His 82 mph throwing velocity and best pop time of 2.13 seconds indicate quick release and strong throw-down ability, helping him control the running game. His receiving and blocking skills continue to develop, giving him a strong foundation as a catcher. At the plate, Mullin brings a switch-hitting approach with a 78 mph exit velocity and barrel accuracy, showing a balanced swing from both sides of the plate. His bat-to-ball skills are solid, and with continued growth in strength and bat speed, he can develop into a more consistent offensive threat. Athletically, Mullin displays quick footwork (4.91 shuttle time) and solid grip strength (108L/96R), which help him behind the plate and at first base. His broad jump (90 inches) and lower-body explosiveness suggest room for added power as he matures physically. Overall, Mullin is a talented young catcher with strong defensive ability, switch-hitting versatility, and room to grow offensively. As he continues to refine his approach at the plate and develop his power, he has the potential to be an impact player at the next level.

07/20/2023 - National Showcase - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Conor is an athletic C/3B who is a prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in 2.13 range. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At 3B, he displays fluid/smooth actions. Feet are active but needs to attack ball and play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 4 years to further develop, Conor has potential and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
