07/05/2024 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (MS) Conrad continues to shine in his baseball abilities on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. His actions at 2B highlight his natural athleticism and understanding of the position. The fact that he actively attacks the ball and plays through it with his body demonstrates a strong fielding mentality. As he works on his foot quickness, range will improve which will further enhance his defensive capabilities. At the plate, his loose hands and aggressive swing path allow him to generate good bat speed, and the line drive approach combined with the potential for increased power as he properly utilizes his lower half indicates significant upside in his offensive game. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 53-54 mph. Breaking ball displays 3/9 shape with across break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

03/10/2024 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY Conrad is an athletic 2B who will graduate in 2028. At 2B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but he will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. With 5 years to further develop, Conrad has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
