08/20/2023 - National Showcase - Billings, MT Cooper is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2028. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At SS, he works to center the baseball and will layout for baseballs. Works into a low fielding position with good glove actions. Made accurate throws to first base from multiple arm slots, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 62mph. On the mound, he pitches to contact and has level eyes. He is coachable with a strong desire to improve. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 50-52mph, a breaking ball with 11/5 shape, and a developing slider. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. A simple setup to start and gets his hands separated. During his round of BP, he hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 45mph. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Cooper having a bright future at the high school level and beyond.

11/10/2022 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Cooper is a 2028 grad out of Miles City, MT who continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and did so at the Select Training event in Arizona. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he shows smooth/fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls but needs to play through with his body. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight from the backside into a firm front side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 53-57 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound.

08/07/2022 - All-In Membership - Billings, MT Cooper is a SS/C prospect who will graduate in 2028. At SS, Cooper shows active footwork and moves well to his glove side. He gets into a low position and fields with a firm glove. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws to his target. Working on his pocket awareness can help Cooper field ground balls more efficiently. Behind the dish, Cooper is active moving to block and keeps dirt balls in front of him. He sits in a low stance and receives with a firm glove. He throws from a 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Cooper can build up his arm strength by long tossing. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets into his load and hits against a strong front side, spraying line drives to all fields. Maintaining center balance throughout his swing can help Cooper barrel up more baseballs. With six more years to develop, Cooper has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
