11/08/2024 - Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training (MS) Cooper is an 8th-grade second baseman and right-handed pitcher from Germantown, MD, who made notable strides in his development at the Baseball Factory West Coast Fall Training in Arizona. Defensively, he starts on the balls of his feet and keeps his feet active, working from right to left and consistently picking out hops. His short arm action allows him to get rid of the ball quickly, with an arm velocity reaching up to 69 mph. At the plate, he starts in a relaxed hitting stance with high hands and uses a controlled stride to generate good balance. His ability to hit line drives to all fields is impressive, and his exit velocity of 79 mph reflects his solid hitting mechanics and potential for power. On the mound, he works exclusively from the stretch, taking the proper stride length and maintaining good balance and direction in his delivery. He throws a fastball, curveball, and changeup, but he will need to continue refining his finish and work on controlling his secondary pitches for more consistency. Throughout the weekend, Cooper showed a strong work ethic, made adjustments on the fly, and proved to be a great teammate. His dedication and ability to adapt will serve him well as he continues to develop both defensively and as a pitcher, and he has a bright future ahead with plenty of room to grow.
