01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Cruz continues to show as a prospect with his baseball abilities at the Pre-season All American event. At SS, he shows smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body, gaining ground. Hands are clean and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (81 mph velocity) to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn.

11/07/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Walnut Creek, CA Cruz is a skilled, L/R MIF who can swing it. With the bat, this LHH stands in well with an athletic/balanced approach. Hands are quick as he whips the barrel with + bat speed, connects with pop and hits hard line-drives. At SS, he shows quick/active prep moving well on the balls of his feet. Hands are presented out in front as he funnels smoothly to a quick/clean transfer to throw. He can turn the DP effectively working quickly around the 2B bag. Only a 2025 grad - Lopez is a very talented prospect who has a ton of upside.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
