11/05/2023 - National Showcase - Plano (DFW), TX Curry is a C prospect who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame athletic build with strength present. Curry continues to show improvement in all facets of his game. Behind the plate, he showed efficient footwork and strong hands. Presents a low target and tracks ball to mitt with ability to stick the baseball. Good direction to second base, with a clean exchange, working into a 3/4 release point with on-line throws to second base. Arm velocity was up to 79mph, and his best pop time was 2.18 seconds. Creates good blocking angles with the ability to smother the baseball. At the plate he hits from an athletic and even stance. Good balance in swing, with knob to C, and ability to backspin baseballs. A direct barrel path enables him to hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Curry having opportunities to play at the next level.

07/10/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Curry is a 2025 C prospect out of Mineral Wells, TX who improved his skills during the Cape Cod Training and Competition. Behind the dish, Curry starts in a relaxed posture and presents a low target. He replaces his feet and works with good direction towards second base. Made accurate throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot with an arm velocity up to 78mph and a best pop time of 2.2 seconds. With continued reps, Curry needs to improve his blocking angles and getting his chest over ball. At the plate, he hits from an upright and square stance with comfortable hands. Has a simple swing and is centered at contact. Showed good barrel control as he sprayed line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 71mph during BP. During the event, Curry showed good patience at the plate as he drew 3 base on balls. With 3 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Curry making huge strides on the baseball field.

01/30/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Plano (DFW), TX Curry is a solid 2025 catcher with good mechanics and a frame that has room to continue to fill out. Primary catcher who has a quiet body and a soft glove with solid arm strength at 78 mph. Receiving wise, he beats the ball to the spot and keeps balls in the strike zone. Creates good blocking angles and covers the 5 hole. Clean transfers and accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. Offensively, he is short and simple with quick hands to the ball. Stays in legs with good extension and a gap to gap approach. With continued growth and development, we foresee Curry making big strides and having an opportunity to play at the next level.

12/04/2021 - All-In Membership - Highland Park (DFW), TX Curry is a C who will graduate in 2025. Medium frame thin build with some strength present and room to add throughout. At C, he has an easy sit, with fluid feet, and ability to move well laterally. Gains ground to second base, with good direction, and throws from a 3/4 arm slot. He made consistent throws with an arm velocity up to 69mph and a best pop time of 2.37 seconds. Receives from a square position and has a loud mitt. Showed good spine angle on his blocks with ability to cover the 5-hole. At the plate, he hits from a tall and athletic stance. A simple/quiet swing, with on-time rhythm, and gets his elbow in slot early. He hit balls to the pull side with a bat exit velocity up to 66mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Curry having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
