07/23/2020 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Dakota is a coachable SS/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the National World Series at Pirate City. In the field, Dakota shows quick footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a quick exchange. He gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Dakota improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a tall stance and takes aggressive hacks, leading to strong line drives. Dakota can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride. On the mound, Dakota works with a loose arm and extends through his release. He stays inline toward the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Dakota shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 75mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 64-65mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits at 66mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Being more controlled gathering to a balance point can help Dakota improve as a pitcher. With four more years to develop, Dakota has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

02/16/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Sioux Falls, SD Dakota is a tall/lean, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Dakota has good balance over the rubber, he separates his hands on time, and keeps his eyes on target. He has a compact delivery, a FB touching 77 MPH, and his off-speed show well. At SS, Dakota has active feet, firm hands, and he moves with good range to the baseball. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with solid direction to his target. At the plate, this RHH has a tall stance, he loads his hands well, and he keeps a still head. He works the middle of the field, he hits line drives, and he uses his lower body. Solid overall skills can get even better with work on the following.

Pitching
1. Lengthen stride
2. Loosen AA
Infield

Offense

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
