01/07/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (AZ) Dale is a 2022 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-American Tournament. At 3B, he showed a quick/clean exchange, with a quick arm stroke, and has good carry across diamond. Made accurate and on-line throws, with momentum towards target, and arm velocity up to 87mph. Right-handed pitcher who works with good tempo and plays with high energy. He separates his hands on-time, with a quick arm stroke, and lands square to target. He showed ability to pitch inside and does a good job of controlling the run game. Attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 85mph with good tailing action, an 11/5 shaped slider with tight spin, and a splitter with good run that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, he struck out 6 batters and threw 58% of his pitches for strikes. At the plate, this right-handed hitter begins with an upright and open stance. Gets his hands separated, with a short glide step, and showed ability to stay through pitches away. Made contact to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 82mph. In live game action, he reached base 3 times with 2 singles and a walk. With another year of continued growth and development, we can see this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

07/28/2021 - Baseball Factory Southwest Championships 17U Dale continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At 3B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases his foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (94 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 84 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches.

01/18/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Glendale (Phoenix), AZ Dale is tall, athletic RHP/3B who has a promising future on the diamond. On the mound, delivery is sound and repeatable, allowing his arm action to work well to the plate. Fast ball shows a range of 81-83 mph with late arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with tumbling action. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working both sides of the plate. At 3B, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove is clean but needs to present earlier and more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws zipping (86 mph velocity) across the diamond. Dale has a big upside and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
