12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory West Coast Winter Classic Dallas is an athletic 5 ft 1/90 MI/RHP in the 2030 class. Scouts were recently impressed how advanced he played for his age at the West Coast Winter Classic. In the field, he plays with controlled actions and a relaxed feel. He has quick feet and is always putting his body in the right position to be on time to field the baseball. Gains a low and athletic fielding stance and his hands are sure. Can redirect with quick actions and has an advanced understanding of his internal clock. Arm works at 70 velo and is accurate to his targets. Made the defensive play of the weekend with an impressive over the shoulder catch. On the mound, he demonstrated solid poise and stays composed. He uses a compact delivery and shows athleticism by repeating his delivery. Had a solid showing with 3 K’s in two innings of work. Operates with a two-pitch mix and will spin an occasional CH. His FB topped at 66 and worked both sides of the plate. His CB shaped 11-5 and stayed in the zone. At the plate, he had an excellent weekend while registered 4 qualities with 3 hits and a BB. Scouts liked his set-up and approach at the plate. He handled velo and stayed back on the off-speed. He stays inside the ball well and use the middle of the field well. Overall, Dallas is a next level player who looks to have a bright future.

11/25/2023 - National Showcase - Bay area, CA Dallas is an athletic SS/RHP who has a promising future on the diamond. At SS, he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is firm and presents out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent hard contact through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 59-63 mph with tailing action. Slider displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 7 years to further develop, Dallas has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
