11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Dalton continues to impress with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Fall Select showcase. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times showed in the 2.50 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he transfers weight into a firm front side. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great personality, is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

08/14/2023 - National Showcase - York, PA Dalton is a young and strong catcher in the 2027 class. Behind the plate, he shows a relaxed feel and quiet actions. Is athletic in his set up and shows a firm wrist to maintain the strike zone. Gets rid of the baseball with quick and clean actions. Arm strength (79 velo/2.34 pop) is there and is accurate to the bag. Working to replace his feet and stay in his legs will decrease his pop times. At the plate, he can drive the baseball to all fields. He works to create extension by starting with a clean and loose bat angle. Demonstrates solid timing and proves to be a line drive hitter. Once Dalton gains further strength in his legs, he is going to blossom into a terrific catching prospect. Scouts are very eager to witness his development at future BF events.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
