Foot speed is average as indicated by his 7.47 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive to the ball as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down ball but needs to work to get behind balls to play through with momentum to his target. He did play 1B, displaying proper footwork around the bag. Throws show accuracy, flashing carry as he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to further develop more carry and arm strength. Offensively, Sawyer shows rhythm in his stance and approach with life in his hands, flashing bat speed. He has strength in his swing, showing strong hands and leverage with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 79-82 mph with cutting action on a downhill plane. Off speed pitches show potential as being quality pitches at the next level. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with tight spin and late break. Changeup shows solid feel for. He shows good command with all his pitches, attacking hitters. With 2 years to further develop, Dalton has plus abilities with good makeup as he could be a solid two-way player at the next level.
