11/07/2020 - Pittsburgh Regional Pitching/Catching & Offensive Skills Combined Weekend Damian is a 3B/RHP prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Pittsburgh Skills Weekend. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a centered stride. He is smooth to load and hits against a strong front side. He gets good extension through the ball and produces loud contact and line drives. Driving his lower half more can help Damian produce more pop off the barrel. On the mound, Damian shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-62mph. Knuckleball sits from 60-61mph. Damian can improve his pitch command by keeping his shoulders inline toward the plate. With three more years to develop, Damian has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

10/24/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - OH (HS) Damian is a lean 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2023. At the plate is where he shows best through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. On the mound, he shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He throws a knuckle ball and shows a feel for pitch with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Damian has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
