08/02/2017 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Damian is a coachable and hard working athlete who showed well during his time in Pirate City. Defensively, he works lightly on the balls of his feet and gets good reads as he aggressively tracks down fly-balls hit to his right and left. He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground towards his target. At the plate, he displays an open setup with patience as he waits for a pitch he likes. Swing is on-plane and repeatable as he barrels the ball up and drives it to all parts of the field. Added power is there as he works to engage and explode his lower 1/2 more. Damian brings a positive attitude to the field and plays the game the right way. He has a solid all-around skill-set and should find success in this his senior year.

02/12/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Stockton (Sacramento), CA Damian is a thin, wiry 2018 OF prospect. He is a very good defensive outfielder who can track down balls in the gaps and hold runners with his good arm. His feet are active working to the ball as he gets good reads off the bat. His angles are precise and he works to play through, gaining momentum to throw accurately to his target. At the plate, he displays a square setup with a strong stride and activated load to a stacked position. His lower half works well as he shows a level path to the ball to make consistent contact. Keeping his hands back and exploding to the ball will result in the ability to use all fields and allow him to react to off speed pitches. Damian is a prospect we look forward to continue watching develop.

07/14/2016 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 2 Damian is an attentive player on the field who gets the most out of his tools with hard work. He displays some good raw power at the plate with a big swing that can generate extra base hits. He stays in line to the pitcher with his stride and has good rhythm with an on-time launch. His bat path is direct to the ball and he stays behind it well to hit the ball where it's pitched. Improving his bat grip will allow him to get more extension through the zone and hit the ball harder. In the outfield, Damian works forward well to groundballs, gaining momentum to the infield when fielding. He also gets behind fly balls to generate carry on his throws. Damian is a good young player who works hard every time he's on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
