02/18/2023 - National Showcase - Marlborough (Boston), MA Damian is a 3B/RHP who will graduate in 2024. Medium frame lean build with some strength present. In the infield, he showed quick feet and tracks ball to glove. Works around baseball and keeps it in front of him. A short arm stroke in back with a low 3/4 arm slot coming forward and arm velocity up to 72mph. On the mound, he separates his hands on time and throws with intent. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot with eyes on target. Flashed a FB that sat 67-68mph, and a developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen session. A right-handed hitter who hits from a tall and even stance. A balanced setup, with some lower half turn, and ability to get top hand through the hitting zone. Hit balls to all fields. With another year of development, we foresee Damian having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/10/2022 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Damian is a 2024 3B/RHP out of Taunton, MA who worked hard at the Cape Cod Training and Competition. He hustled and made adjustments throughout the event. At 3B, he starts in a good ready position and has active feet with ability to make routine plays. Showed good lateral range as he gets good reads off the bat and takes aggressive routes to batted balls. He fields from a low/square fielding position with hands out front and has a good internal clock as he gets rid of the ball. Made accurate throws to first base from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 70mph. On the mound, he strides in-line, with eyes on target, and takes the proper stride length. Attacks hitters with a FB that sat 62-63mph with plus command, and a developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. Damian needs to adjust his CH grip to get a better speed variance on this pitch. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and even stance with comfortable hands. Showed good hand/eye coordination and is centered at contact. A flat barrel path enables him to hit balls consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during BP. With 2 years of continued development, we foresee this 2-way player having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/12/2021 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (HS) Damian continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 3B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 61-63 mph. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but throws too hard, resembling fastball. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Damian as he continues to mature as a ballplayer.

03/20/2021 - Spring Pro Training Experience - NJ (HS) Damian continues to shine on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 62-64 mph He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

11/17/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Marlborough (Boston), MA Damian is a 3B/RHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. At 3B, Damian shows efficient footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Keeping his glove low on backhand plays can help Damian improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance with center balance. He leads well with his lower half and drives the ball to his pull side. Damian can improve as a hitter by working a smoother load into his swing. On the mound, Damian gathers over the rubber and works with a loose arm, finishing with a controlled landing. He shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 59mph with arm side run. Changeup sits from 48-52mph with arm side run. Striding square towards the plate can help Damian improve as a pitcher. With six more years to develop, Damian has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

11/08/2019 - Baseball Factory's Fall Classic Tournament at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Damian continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities as he had a good week at the Fall Classic. At 3B, he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up, presenting hands as he makes the plays. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 60-62 mph with tailing action. Getting on a long toss program to develop more arm strength will aid in improving abilities on the mound. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/13/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Springfield, MA Damian showed solid defensive and offensive upgrades during his last workout with The Factory. He is a lean, athletic, 2-way player who plays 3B and RHP. Defensively, Damian has active feet, he covers ground, and fields squarely. He works toward his target, makes plays consistently, and throws with a quick/accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound, Damian stands with good balance over the rubber and he has a quick arm action. He separates his hands on time, has a controlled landing toward the plate, and keeps his eyes on target. Offensively, Damian has an athletic stance, good balance, and fast bat speed. He swings on plane, hits line drives, and hits with strength to the pull side.

07/19/2019 - Cape Cod Select Training & Competition (Ages 12-14) Damian is a 3B/RHP that was a hard worker at the Cape. At 3B, Damian shows quick feet with agile range to the glove and back hand side. He fields the ball square with firm hands. His throws across the diamond are strong with life and a quick arm action. At the plate Damian sets up tall with low and loose hands. He is aggressive in the zone, rotating against a firm front side with a short and fast swing. His contact is consistent, and power shows more to the pull side. On the mound, Damian has a 2-pitch mix with a FB/CH. He sets up in the stretch only and separates on time. His stride is in-line with proper stride length and an athletic finish. Damian has several years to develop and will continue to grow.

07/07/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Lowell (Boston), MA Damian is a 3B/RHP prospect. In the field, Damian shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and makes solid contact. On the mound, Damian gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with a controlled landing. Damian shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Changeup sits from 48-51mph as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
