01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Dane is an impressive 2025 prospect out of Grosse Pointe, MI. He brings a maturity factor to his defense that is beyond his years with good feel for the position. Dane has the ability to create good angles on ground balls and a smooth funnel up to his exchange. At the plate he shows some strength with a 77 mph exit velocity and good extension through the ball. His ability to stay through the baseball allows him to consistently hit line drives and he projects as a gap to gap type of power hitter. Overall Dane is in a very good spot and will continue to develop into a solid prospect as he grows and gets stronger.

01/17/2020 - Baseball Factory's Spring Training at Pirate City (Ages 12-14) Dane is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Training at Pirate City. In the field, Dane shows smooth footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He gets into a low position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with life through his target. Removing his glove pat can help Dane improve defensively. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an open stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and shows good hip/hand coordination, leading to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Dane can improve as a hitter by taking a more level swing path. Overall, Dane is a solid prospect who has the time and potential to further develop his skills on the field.

09/22/2019 - National Tryout Plus - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Dane worked out at SS during his last workout and showed some nice upgrades. Arm strength increased to 59 MPH and exit velocity also increased to 59 MPH. Defensively, Dane has fluid/active feet, agile movements to the ball, and he fields in an athletic position. He creates a good fielding angle, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency and accuracy across the diamond. At the plate, hitting and power grades both improved to 28's. He has an athletic/open stance, good balance, and an aggressive swing. He stays inside the baseball well and makes consistent contact.

02/18/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Beverly Hills (Detroit), MI Dane is a young, 2-way player who plays SS and OF. In the INF, Dane has efficient footwork, presentable hands, and he takes good angles to the ball. He fields in rhythm, makes plays consistently, and has a clean exchange with consistency across the diamond. In the OF, Dane reads the ball well off the bat, he fields squarely, and makes plays. He takes good routes and has a short arm action to his cut off man. At the plate, Dane has an athletic set-up, a short stride, and good balance. He has a direct swing path, makes level/consistent contact, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

Infield
1. Quickness
2. Play more through
3. Arm strength
Outfield
1. Play through
2. Arm strength
Offense
1. Strength

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
