09/30/2012 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Daniel showed several improvements in his game since we last saw him at Pirate City. He now shows as a 2-way player as a 3B/C. He improved his foot speed, running his fastest 60 time to date at 7.47. Defensively at 3B, he displays soft hands and presents his glove out in front. He remains athletic and works through the ball toward his target. Behind the plate, Ammirati displays a quiet setup and gets around the ball well. When blocking, he deadens the ball, centering it in front. He has a quick exchange, with pop times ranging from 2.17 - 2.23. Offensively, he improved his numbers at the plate, through a solid setup, good rhythm and good load. He gets extension through contact and sprays the ball gap-to-gap. Daniel has solid abilities and will get looks to play at the next level.
