09/26/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Visalia, CA Daniel continues to shine on the diamond. He did show at 2B for the first time at the event. In the OF, feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He takes good first steps in working to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. At 2B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square ball and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing and he maintains balance.

At the plate, he shows a crouched setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

02/12/2021 - Baseball Factory Spring Training - West Coast (HS) Daniel is an OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Spring Training. In the field, Daniel shows active footwork and makes the routine plays. He throws from a 3/4 angle and keeps his throws accurate to his target. Taking a quicker first step can help Daniel make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He remains centered in his lower half and rotates his core through well, driving the ball to his pull side. Daniel can create more consistent contact by working through a shorter swing path. Overall, Daniel is a developing prospect who has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Daniel is a R/R OF who has a great work ethic and looks to improve every day. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he tracks proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will aid in his development in the OF. At the plate, he continues to shine through an aggressive approach. Hands are quick, and work through level swing path. He makes consistent contact, showing a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B and 2 1B's. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, plays hard, and is very coachable. With 3 years to further develop, Daniel has potential with time and room to continue to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
