03/20/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Trenton, NJ Daniel continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest pop time to date at 2.32. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, defensive abilities have improved as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through with his body. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

03/14/2021 - All-In Membership - Manalapan, NJ Daniel is a 2025 C. Medium frame athletic build with room to still fill out as he develops. Primary catcher who is young and developing. Conventional crouch with active feet behind the plate. Long/loose arm with online throws to second base. Does a good job of getting to his feet on blocked balls. Right-handed hitter, uses an open stance with a short stride to the ball. Takes aggressive swings with good extension out front. Showed ability to hit line drives in the middle of field during BP. With five more years to grow and develop, there should be an opportunity to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
