09/14/2008 - College PREP - Parker, CO Daniel is a young catcher with a tall body that shows projection as it continues to physically mature. Arm strength is slightly average and he needs to get on a strict long toss program to aid in building more arm strength. Throws are accurate through a solid transfer / exchange into a short arm action with good extension and finish out front. As he increases foot speed and arm strength, pop times will drop quickly. He is an average receiver, tracking all balls in. He does need to let the ball travel more, working his mitt around the baseball. Blocking skills are near average and once again as foot quickness and agility is improved, blocking grades will improve quickly. At the plate, Droll has solid average ability and power. He keeps hands inside the baseball, utilizing all fields. Top hand stays through the baseball at the point of contact, displaying a solid feel for the barrel. Power numbers will increase as overall body strength is improved. Daniel has ability with time and room to continue to develop.
