08/09/2008 - College PREP - Greensboro, NC Daniel is a RHP with an outstanding body suited for the mound. Arm strength is above average and his fastball shows solid arm side run. Change up is his best off speed showing above average. He shows a good feel with his changeup with run and sinking action. Breaking is solid average displaying an 11/5 shape with tight spin. In his delivery, he shows good on time separation and utilizes his lower half well. Arm action is easy and shows life. He does need to work on his command of all his pitches. Keeping eyes on target and slowing down the delivery will aid with better command. Lewis will catch the eyes of the college coaches with his abilities on the mound.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
