09/27/2023 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic (2024) Daniel is an athletic and thick 5ft 10/190 C/1B in the 2024 class. Behind the plate, he sits low and offered excellent glove presentation. He tracks the ball well and keeps it behind the eyes. He relaces his feet well and gains ground on his throws and uses a clean exchange to get to this release point. He is on the bag consistently at 2.25 and strong throws. He creates positive angles with his blocking and is quick to recover. Working to quicken his catch to release will help him gain a sub 2.0 pop. At the plate, he shows barrel feel in the zone and line drive production. Bat speed plays at 86 and working to attack the inner half of the ball on the outside pitch will increase his full field production. Overall, Daniel is a hard-working player who can help a college roster next season.

12/27/2022 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Daniel continues to show as a prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities at the Recruiting Classic. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.07 with accuracy mph velocity) on his throws. He gets rid of the baseball quickly. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick working inside the ball with gap-to-gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

07/10/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sacramento, CA Daniel is a talented C in the 2024 class. Behind the plate, he has a solid set-up for his pitcher. His feet are quick to react and proves to have strong agility. Receives in an athletic position and can maintain the strike zone with firm hands. His exchange is quick and his takeaway is short. He can get the ball in the air quickly (2.16 pop) and is accurate to the bag. Chest is in an angles position on blocks and he replaces his feet well. At the plate, he is a gap-to-gap type hitter with fast hands (85 exit velo). Loads his body well with a smooth rhythm and direct path. Centers his balance well and can back spin the baseball with a high finish. Overall, there is a lot to like about Daniel’s game and he is a prospect who will attract the attention of college scouts.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
