Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 1B/LHPPosition Projection

05/07/2023 - National Showcase - Plymouth Meeting (Philadelphia), PA Daniel is a 1B/LHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing player with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 1B, he starts with a good prep-step and fluid footwork. Showed athletic actions and good glove actions. He fields from an athletic fielding position with a low funnel. Made accurate/on-line throws to second base from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 83mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on-time. He takes the proper stride length and lands square to his target. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 73-75mph with arm side run, a 1/7 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup he throws with arm side run that he throws with FB arm speed. At the plate, he hits from a crouched and even stance. Gets knob to C, with smooth timing, and gets a good lower half turn. He showed a quick barrel through the hitting zone. A short barrel path enables him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 75mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee this 2-way prospect making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
