12/12/2010 - College PREP - Fort Myers, FL Daniel is an athletic 2nd baseman who will graduate in 2011. Defensively, Daniel has soft hands, fluid footwork, and he moves well laterally. He fields the ball in an athletic position on the balls of his feet, and he has a clean / efficient exchange from glove to hand. Daniel has a short arm action with good life and carry, along with accuracy to his target. Playing in a lower position and getting his glove down sooner will help solid numbers get even better. At the plate, Daniel has an athletic set-up, short stride, and good balance. He has an aggressive approach, fast bat speed, and he keeps his hands inside the ball well. Daniel makes square contact, his swing is level, and he can work the ball gap to gap. If Daniel can avoid leaking his front side, and work the ball to the opposite field better, offensive tool grades can rise.
