12/28/2023 - National Showcase - Milton, NY Daniel is a C in the 2025 graduating class. Tall frame with stout build. Has quiet actions behind dish and presents a good target. He tracks pitches well and shows good pocket awareness. Made on-line throws to second base with an arm velocity up to 73mph and a best pop time of 2.5 seconds. He covers the 5-hole on his blocks and tucks his chin. He hits from a crouched and square stance. A lower half driven swing who stays in his legs throughout his swing. He lets ball get deep and showed ability to deliver the barrel. A flat barrel path allows him to hit line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph. Daniel should have a bright future on the baseball field with continued growth and development.

11/02/2023 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at JRTC Daniel is a 6ft 1/215 C in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he has a squared stance and sinks his hips well. Keeps his thumb under well and tracks the ball into the mitt. Redirects with clean actions and gains a high qtr. slot with smooth actions. Balls has life at 74 and he can work the long hop well to get the ball to the bag. Working to create a spine angle on his blocks will allow him to control the baseball on his recovers. At the plate, he is strong from the left side. He begins in a tall and squared stance with high comfortable hands. Stays squared to the dish in his load and his bat path is on-plane. Had a great eye on the weekend with 6 BB’s in 7 plate appearances. Overall, Daniel has the ability to play at the next level and a strong dedication to the weight room will allow him to get there.

09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Cleveland, OH Daniel is a 6ft 1/215 catcher in the 2025 class. Behind the plate, he has a solid pocket and strong legs. Sinks his hips well and keeps his eyes behind the baseball. Separates in the middle of his body and has a loose high 3 qtr. release. Arm action is clean and with more leg drive he can improve his 2.45. At the plate, he shows solid balance from the left side. Engages his hips well and is aggressive with his barrel in the zone. Demonstrates pull side production and with letting the ball travel further, he can expose the middle of the field more. Overall, Daniel has a solid frame and with hard work in the weight room and quality game reps, he can blossom into a fine prospect.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
