06/09/2010 - Under Armour Southeast Regional Tournament - 2010 West continues to show solid play in his baseball abilities. He is very competive with a high energy motor. On the mound, he has really improved as he attacks hitters with plus command of all his pitches and changes speeds well. Defensively, he made all the plays with life, carry, and accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he was 3 for 7 at the event as he had some big hits in games.

03/28/2010 - College PREP - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Danny is a lean, athletic, 2-way player that plays 3B and RHP. He currently projects better at 3B, but still has 2 seasons to improve at both positions. In the INF, Danny plays down and through the ball and keeps his head down. He moves well laterally, has a clean / quick exchange, and he has a good feel for his backhand. Danny has life in his arm and throws accurately across the diamond. On the mound, Danny has a long, loose arm action and he hits his spots with his FB. His CB shows promise with tight, 11-5 spin. Danny can improve on the mound if he can avoid falling off to the 1st base side and finish his pitches better. Offensively, Danny has good balance and bat speed. He has gap to gap power, and flashes an inside hitting approach. Danny's lower 1/2 works well, and with better rhythm more direct hands to the ball, hitting grades could further improve.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
