06/27/2010 - Team One South 2010 Daryl showed some improvements in his game during his time at the Team One South Showcase. He is a small, athletic, OF with good defensive skills. He has quick feet, athletic actions, and is aggressive to the baseball. He takes good angles to the ball, has a quick exchange, and has a plus arm to his target. At the plate, Daryl is a short / simple swing, and quick hands. He stays inside the ball, has a line drive approach, and he can get down the line in a hurry. More direct hands to the ball, along with more lower 1/2 will help offensive numbers rise. Overall, Daryl is a high energy, positive player with a great personality.

05/30/2010 - College PREP - Springdale (Fayetteville), AR Daryl is a small, athletic OF with good speed. He was timed at 6.83 in the 60 yard dash and can cover a lot of ground in the OF. Defensively, Daryl has good hands and footwork. He takes good angles to the baseball, works behind fly balls well, and has an excellent arm action when throwing. Daryl delivers the ball accurately with carry to his target, and with more aggressiveness on ground balls solid defensive numbers can get even better. At the plate, Daryl has good balance, a loose grip, and he starts closed. He has a short stride, compact swing, and can work the ball gap to gap. Hitting can improve by letting the ball travel deeper, a leveled off swing, and more use of his lower 1/2.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
