06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) David continues shine on the diamond. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. At SS, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active and play through with is body he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an open setup. Hands are quick (89 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive swing path with gap to gap pop. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose arm and extends through on his release, staying inline towards the plate. Fastball shows a range of 70-72 mph with sinking action. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/10/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Jacksonville, FL David continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a bright future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (82 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent hard contact with power showing best to the pull side. At SS, defensive abilities are now solid as he displays smooth fluid actions. Feet are active and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) David is a big SS that shows improvement in all aspects of his game since past events. In the field, David shows athleticism with agile range that allow him to make difficult plays. He shows a low fielding position and firm hands as he fields ground balls. David has raw talent and needs to work on his mechanics to be more efficient in the field. After fielding, he makes clean exchanges into a quick arm action from a high 3/4 arm slot. David's raw velocity has increased from 64mph to 69mph since past events he attended. He makes accurate throws to his targets by using his body's momentum at his release, throwing the ball on a line. At the plate, David shows a square set up with a short stride and a good load. His rhythm is smooth as he keeps his balance center and keeps a firm front half with a direct bat path to the ball. Along with raw velocity, David's exit velocity shows improvement, jumping from 71mph to 73mph. David can improve at the plate by syncing his mechanics and becoming more aggressive in his approach and his swings. David is a quiet player and needs to become more vocal on the field along with focusing on improving his mechanics, both offensively and defensively.

02/10/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) David is a hard worker and respectful prospect that made several adjustments during the hitting accelerated training weekend. At the plate, starts in a squared stance and stays balanced through contact. He has a strong lower half and shows pull side pop. Continuing to engage the lower half and attacking the inside part of the ball will allow him to drive the ball through the middle part of the field. Creating rhythm and separation in his body will allow him to be one time and allow his hands to work to the ball. David will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

01/07/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Jacksonville, FL David is a young SS with an athletic frame. Defensively, David has playable hands and feet, he moves well to the forehand, and keeps the ball in front of his body. He has a quick exchange on the double play, and throws from a 3/4 arm slot with carry to his target. At the plate, David has an athletic set-up, an aggressive swing, and he tracks the ball well. He can spray to all fields, and gets his lower 1/2 through. David can improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Quicken 1st step
2. Soften glove
3. Fielding position
Offense
1. Shorten swing
2. Rhythm/timing
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
