04/28/2024 - National Showcase - Seattle, WA David is young and developing RHP/SS who will graduate in 2028. He starts with a good pre-pitch routine and has quick feet. He fields from a low fielding position and has a low funnel. Shows ability to throw from multiple arm slots and has a quick release. At the plate he starts with an athletic and square stance. Hits into a firm frontside and has a fast barrel through the hitting zone. During his round of BP, he hit line drives consistently to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 73mph. A right-handed pitcher, he gets a clean leg lift and breaks his hands from mid-line. Gets his chest to his glove and extends out front. Has a 4-pitch mix including a FB that topped 71mph and a SL that shows tight spin. With continued growth and development, we see this 2-way player making huge strides on the diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
