08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) David is a tall and strong 2019 2-way prospect that was eager to learn and made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. Continuing to practice game like throws in his throwing program will increase his ability to throw from multiple arm angles and on the run. At the plate, David starts in a crouched stance, gets his front foot down on time, and loads his hands back into the drive position. He shows pull side pop and keeps the barrel on plane with the ball. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball, create backside rotation, and hunt the fastball. On the bump, David gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and rotates toward his target. He attacks hitters and fields his position well. He needs to continue to work north to south and drive the back leg toward the plate. His fastball sits 74-75, his breaking ball is his out pitch, and his change up shows good depth. David will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
