05/20/2018 - College PREP - Gambrills, MD David is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.09. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying solid hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work to and through the baseball, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. In the OF, he displays smooth / clean actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat but will benefit in working to get behind balls more to play through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. David has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
