07/25/2009 - Team One North 2009 - PVP David is a young two-way player on the mound and at 1B with a pitcher's body that is well suited for his positions. Currently, he projects best on the mound for the next level. Delivery is above average showing sound mechanics as he displays on time separation working in line through a solid balance point. He shows plus rhythm and tempo allowing his quick arm action to work well away from his body. Fastball shows a range of 83-86 mph on a downhill plane, creating tough angles on hitters. He works both side of the plate with his fastball. Breaking ball is best off speed pitch displaying an 11/5 shape with tight spin and flashes potential of being a quality pitch at the next level. Changeup shows a solid feel for with sinking action. Foot speed is well below average and he must get on a speed / agility program to improve foot quickness for the next level. Defensive abilities at 1B are solid average. Arm strength is near above average and he will benefit by getting on a strict long toss program to aid in further developing more arm strength, raising velocities. At the plate, Palladino has solid average abilities and power through a balanced approach. He flashes bat speed through a long swing path. With 2 years to further develop, David has an upside on the mound and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches as he continues to improve.
