08/01/2023 - National Showcase - Irvine (Los Angeles), CA David is an athletic OF/1B who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his foot quickness (7.26 60 time) in covering a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with online carry (85 mph velocity) to his target. At 1B, defensive abilities are solid as he shows smooth / fluid actions. He displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Hands are clean and presents out front. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. David has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

07/14/2018 - Baseball Factory D.C. All Star Experience (Ages 12-14) David is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who continued to work hard on his skills during his time at the D.C. All Star Experience. In the field, David shows active footwork and gains ground to the ball well. He gets into a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them consistently on-line to his target. David can improve defensively by taking his first step back when reading fly balls. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He get back into his load and takes a direct swing, leading to solid line drives. David can improve as a hitter by working a smoother rhythm into his load. On the mound, David keeps his eyes on target as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate. David has a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 61mph. Breaking ball ranges from 46-48mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 50-51mph as he throws with fastball arm speed. David can improve as a pitcher by finishing with his chest over his front knee. With six more years to develop, David has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

01/28/2018 - Interactive Video Program - San Diego, CA David is a young, 2-way player who plays 1B and RHP. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
