08/11/2010 - Pirate City World Series 2010 - Session 2 Sweeting showed as a RHP and OF at Pirate City. Watching him pitch in games, he showed a repeatable delivery which allows him to work fast and efficient. He has direct and clean mechanics and works efficiently around the zone. His front foot is stiff at times causing him to land a little hard, so this is an area he needs to work on correcting. His fastball at Pirate City sat comfortably at 78-80 mph and he showed effective offspeed pitches during the games. As an outfielder, Sweeting continues to show a very strong and playable arm. He has good body control and works through the baseball. As a switch hitter, he is short from both sides with a good bat path, but he needs to make sure his hands stay back and he does not dive at the baseball or work uphill. He has above average athleticism and is an aggressive player who is coachable. He would make a good addition to a college program as a pitcher and outfielder.
