01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Davis is a well-rounded player who can make an impact in all aspects of the game. He is aggressive at short with feel for the position and quick actions to go get the ball. He fields square to keep everything I front and plays through to gain momentum and throw accurately to his target. His smooth rhythm and balance at the plate lead to lots of contact and the ability to use all fields. His hands and lower half work well in a direct path to the ball, keeping his hands inside and getting on top of the ball to hit line drives. Davis is a prototypical shortstop prospect with a bright future.

12/20/2016 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1 Davis continues to show a solid set of fundamentals at the SS position. Davis's pre pitch movement allows him to have range to his glove and backhand sides. If he continues to work on getting the glove out low/earlier, his transfers when throwing the ball will be more fluid. At the plate, Davis displayed a controlled approach with good hand and hip action. This allows him to hit the ball to all fields with power. He can focus on loading a bit earlier to improve his vision of the baseball. Davis continues to improve with experience and is going to be a player to watch out for.

12/10/2016 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14) Davis is an athletic player who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, he swings the bat very well as the ball jumps off his bat. Davis can improve as a hitter by letting the ball travel deeper into the zone which will allow him to hit the ball where it's pitched and spray it to all parts of the field.

09/25/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Washington (Pittsburgh), PA Davis is an athletic SS/2B. At SS, he fields GB's in a low, athletic fielding position. He turns smooth DP's as he makes accurate throws to his target. At 2B, he displays active footwork as he fields GB's. He hustles on each play as he turns quick DP's. At the plate, Davis displays a solid setup. He swings the bat level through the zone as he stays balanced throughout his swing.Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense (SS)
1. Soft hands
2. Pre-pitch
3. Lateral quickness
Defense (2B)
1. Soft hands
2. Arm strength
3. Better DP feeds
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Middle of field approach

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
