12/08/2019 - College PREP - Nyack (NYC), NY Daylan is a top prospect in the OF with a tremendous future. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting abilities with well above average power potential. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field with gap-to-gap pop. In the OF, he has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Glove action is clean but needs to present earlier. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Through are accurate, flashing carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. With 2 years to further to develop, Daylan has a tremendous upside and will get looks from the top college coaches with his baseball abilities.

10/14/2018 - College PREP - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Daylan is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.22. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. With 3 years to further develop, Daylan has a lot of potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
